for Higher Education Teachers

PROTEACH MASTERCLASS is a unique new teacher development course aimed at helping university teachers enhance their skills for the current environment of the 21st century, both on and off-line.
PROTEACH MASTERCLASS course aims
To support higher education teachers in adapting to the 21st century learning environment
To give teachers a platform to discuss modern communicative English teaching methodology and terminology with other English language teaching experts
To share lesson activities, ideas and techniques which work well with Speakout (Pearson coursebook) and other modern English language teaching materials
To demonstrate how Speakout can be used effectively in both face-to-face and online lessons

PROTEACH MASTERCLASS course structure
3 Modules:
1. Presenting and Practising Language
2. Classroom Management
3. Teaching Receptive Skills

7 sessions in each module.
Each session lasts 1.40 min.

6 sessions out of 7 are paired.
What happens in each paired session?
Paired session 1:
Paired session 1:
  • Teachers take part in a demo lesson taught online where they are students (40-60 min)
  • We analyse and discuss the stages, techniques and activities in the lesson
Paired session 2:
Paired session 2:
  • We recap the previous session
  • Teachers watch a demo lesson in a classroom setting
  • As we watch, we discuss what is happening and why and how it is different to the first demo lesson
  • Teachers work in pairs or groups to develop lessons based on other lessons from our coursebooks, using the ideas we have been discussing

There is also an online classroom with self-study materials, including additional demo lesson clips, webinars and articles.

Teacher Trainers of the PROTEACH MASTERCLASS

PROTEACH MASTERCLASS has been developed by two PhD qualified, professional British teacher trainers from Dinternal Education and London School of English, each with 14 years' teaching experience, including over 5 years' working with Ukrainian adult learners.

Join our FREE Focus Group
We are seeking a group of university teaching staff to join our FREE Focus Group for PROTEACH MASTERCLASS. In May 2021, you can take part in a 7 session course on the Zoom platform. In return, we would like you to give us lots of feedback on the sessions so we can develop the most effective and appropriate course for Ukrainian university professionals.

REGISTER
The demo lessons use Speakout Upper Intermediate. The lesson plan tasks use Speakout Intermediate.

At the end of the Focus Group sessions, you will have ideas for teaching more than five different Speakout lessons, and a variety of tools to help you teach in an online environment.
